NVBIA, Falls Church. This group meets the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month from 7:30 – 9:00 p.m. at Falls Church High School (NO SUPPORT GROUP IN AUGUST). All meetings will be in the Career Room across from the main office. The address is 7521 Jaguar Trail (just inside Beltway) off Route 50. Bridge Support Group. A support group for current, or former, members of the Bridge Program meets monthly on a weekend from 1-4 p.m. at the Sherwood Hall Regional Library, Alexandria. Arlington Peer Support Group at the Endependence Center of Northern Virginia will meet monthly on the 4thTuesday of the month. A volunteer peer facilitator will lead the group. Participation in a support group offers you the opportunity to share experiences, learn about resources, and gain support and encouragement from peers who also live with disability. Loudoun County/Community Connections. This group meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month. Meetings will be held at Community Connections, 521-D East Market Street, Leesburg, VA 20176 from 5:30 —7:30 p.m. For information call 703-771-4775. Directions?
Rebuild TBI meets the fourth Friday of every month from 12:00—1:15 p.m. at Inova Fairfax Hospital, in the Physicians Conference Center. This group is for adult survivors and families. The group features guest speakers at each meeting and lunch is free. Attendance and parking are free of charge. Rebuild TBI Families meets the second Wednesday of every month from 6:30-8pm at Inova Fairfax Hospital, Physician’s Conference Center. This group is for family members of adult survivors and is facilitated by trauma social workers. Attendance and parking are free of charge; a pizza dinner is provided. Rebuild Families is an educational / support group series for parents of children with brain injuries. This group meets the first Saturday of the month from 2:30 - 4:00 p.m. during the school year in the Educational Conference Center at Inova Fairfax Hospital. Montgomery County. The Head Injury/Trauma Support Group meets at Suburban Hospital, Conference Room 1-2-3 (near the cafeteria) on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month from 7-8:30 p.m. Call Sharon George ([301] 896-3030) for information. Directions?
Prince George's County. The Head Injury Support Group meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month at Prince George's Hospital Center, 3001 Hospital Drive, Cheverly, Maryland at 7:00 p.m. Meetings are held in the Case Management Conference Room on the 3rd floor. Columbia. The Humanim Support Group for individuals with Acquired Brain Injury meets the 1st Thursday of every month from 1:00 — 2:00 p.m. and is facilitated by a licensed clinician. A family support group and family education seminar are alternated every other month on the 3rd Wednesday beginning at 5:30 p.m. Both groups meet at 6355 Woodside Court, Columbia, MD. Grey Matters. This group at George Washington University in D.C., which addressed the needs of those in higher education with brain injury, is no longer meeting. They hope to resume this summer. For information call 202-973-1032.

NEW - Northern Virginia Stroke Survivors and Young Adult Stroke Survivors, for ages 20-50. Meets last Friday of the month at 6:00pm at Sunrise Assisted Living Facility, 3750 Joseph Siewick Drive, Fairfax, VA, next to Fair Oaks Hospital. Contacts: Emily 703-391-3788 or Helen 703-391-1026.
Alexandria Area Group. This group meets every Thursday at Lincolnia Senior Center Dining Room, 4710 N. Chambliss, Alexandria, VA from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. The group leader is Pat Cole.
Fairfax Area Group. This group meets every Friday at Patrick Henry Library, 101 Maple Street, Vienna, VA from 12:45 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. The group leader is Shannon Kelly.
Mount Vernon Area Group. This group meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at Hollin Hall Senior Center, 1500 Shenandoah Road, Alexandria, VA from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. The group leader is Constance Bell.

The Speech Directions group meets the third Saturday each month from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM at the Stroke Comeback Center, 2944 Hunter Mill Rd., Suite 201, Oakton, VA, 22124. The primary focus of this group is to practice language skills. For more information visit the Speech Directions website.
