How can I tell the difference in Bacillus Subtillis and Bacillus Cereus on my microscope slide of bacteria?
Answer:
Both organisms are gram-positive, so both are stained purple. They are also rod-shaped, so that won't help you much either. I think the only difference between the two is that B. subtilis appear as *chains* of rods while B. cereus are separate rods. I don't particularly remember much from microbiology, though. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
