Friends of ours owned the store and their Great grandfather purchased these cabinets. All they know is they are from South Africa (or the wood is) and he opend the store in 1891. He also bought Tiffany stained glass windows that same year. How did he find these amazing cases?
Answer:
Your best bet is to take them to a professional appraiser. Without tons of pictures, it's impossible to authenticate any aspect of the tables, i.e. where & when they were made. If you check the inside and underside of the cabinets, and you can see strongly made joints, that is a good sign. As an example, certain 19th century South African "Bookcases range between $425 and $1,250", so if in good condition they could be worth quite a bit.
