Frequently Asked Questions...
Do mega pixels apply for video the way they do for cameras?
Like if a camera that also records videos, is 6 mega pixels, are the videos 6 mega pixels too?
Basically what I'm asking is, how is the quality of videos measured?
Thanks(:
so the higher fps, the better?
Answer:
megapixels and resolution.
i.e.
A camera with 5 megapixels that needs to be blown up to a size of 1024 x 768 (desktop wallpaper size) = more than likely, that picture will be fuzzy and less sharp.
A camera with 7+ megapixels that needs to blown up to 1024 x 768, you'll get a sharper picture and less distortion.
Megapixels do play a role in qaulity of a video. Why do you think most camera phone videos are so poor? Well because the resolution is the size of the cell phone screen and the number of frames per second (fps) is real lousy.
Most digital cameras have 30 fps, which is basic online video qaulity. Webcams i.e. have around 10-15 fps which explains why most of the video is choppy and less sync'd.
Basically the higher the megapixels, a higher resolution can be set and still get great qaulity.
The Number of Frames of per second (fps) determines the type of video of the qaulity.
Both are factors in video qaulity in digital cameras.
