Prevention of brain injury is a major focus of NVBIA, BIAV, and BIA.   Together we devote significant efforts towards the goal of preventing the occurrence of brain injuries.

Our associations promote bicycle helmets, elementary and high school education programs, speakers bureaus, a nationwide billboard campaign, public service announcements, and the involvement of physicians, rehabilitation specialists, lawyers, and public figures.

Our December '99 newsletter included a picture of the helmet that saved Tom Tobias, when he had a serious bike accident three years ago.  Helmets save lives!
