President John Quigley is the father of a brain injury survivor. He served the past 2 years as Vice President and previously, the Treasurer. Together with wife, Joan, the Quigley's have been active in the association for over ten years and were awarded the Alan Mayer Award in 2003. For the past seven years John has coordinated JTIs Silent Auctions and most recently initiated several fund-raising activities, to include donut sales. John brings to the office of vice president an in-depth understanding of the association and its functions. As President, he presides at monthly board meetings and is the public face of our Association..

Vice President Lisa Miller has served the Association Secretary for the past four years, and is now serving as Vice President. She is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS), Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS), and the current Director and owner of Community Solutions, an organization that provides home-based Life Skills Training for individuals with brain injuries. Lisa received her BS in Family and Child Development from Virginia Tech, and a BS in Therapeutic Recreation from Virginia Commonwealth University. As Vice President, she presides at meetings in the absence of the President, serves as a member of the Executive Committee, and oversee activities of committees and work groups. She also serves as the website manager.

Treasurer Cynthia MacDonald is the wife of Andy Savin, a brain injury survivor. Cynthia & Andy have being attending the NVBIA Support Group off and on for 8 years and are appreciative of the welcoming and open community that NVBIA fosters. Cynthia looks forward to an opportunity to assist this valuable organization. As Treasurer Cynthia will "keep the books", make all deposits to association accounts, write the checks, and prepare financial reports for the Association and BIA-V. This is her second term as Treasurer. In addition to that role, she is extraordinarily pro-active in the management and operations of NVBIA's office and quarterly newsletter. |

Survivor Representative Jim Brown has been a member of the Northern Virginia Brain Injury Board of Directors for over two years. He also serves on the Arlington County Disability Advisory Commission/Disability Services Board, is an active member of several national disability advocacy organizations, and is a volunteer advocate of the Endependence Center of Northern Virginia. A survivor of a traumatic brain injury, Jim is dedicated to advocating for and helping other survivors. As Survivor Representative Jim will represent the interests of persons who have sustained a brain injury in all Association activities involving services, functions, development, advocacy, and support; as well as administrative matters. |

Immediate Past President as the outgoing President Amy Fitzgerald will serve in the position of Immediate Past President, where she will perform duties as requested by the President, and oversee association activities involving services, functions, development, and support. Amy is a social worker, as well as, a survivor, who had served for two years as NVBIA Vice President, and two years as President. During this period she has also been a member of the Advisory Board of the TBI State Demonstration Grant for Virginia, elected to serve on the Virginia Brain Injury Council, and shared the role of facilitator for the NVBIA Falls Church bi-monthly support group. Amy is a BS graduate of Virginia Tech, along with a MSW from Virginia Commonwealth University. |
